Breakfast and lunch aboard, a snorkel and a visit to Half Moon Bay.
From $140 per person
Check AvailabilityMost snorkel boats here take children, many from age 3, and the private charters take any age. What changes is how calm the water is, how long you are out and what the crew gives a small swimmer. Here is how to match the Turks and Caicos snorkeling guided tours to your family.
The youngest guest each tour takes, as its own booking terms set it. Where a tour lists infants, they ride on an adult's lap and need no seat.

Children's fares on the shared boats usually cover ages 3 to 10 or 11, and older children pay the adult fare, drinks included or not. Check the age bands when you book.
The Bight Park half day lists snorkels, fins, masks and flotation devices in its fare, so a nervous child can float face down without working to stay up. The crews on the shared boats spend the first minutes in the water helping first-timers with their masks.
A child who has never snorkeled learns faster in a pool or at Bight Reef the day before. Let them breathe through the snorkel standing in shallow water first, and the boat day becomes the second go rather than the first.
Half Moon Bay is the calmest stop you can plan for: a long sandbar with a still lagoon on its inside edge, shallow enough to stand in. The Half Moon Bay trip and the morning Alexandra Resort cruise both spend time there.
The reef stops are deeper and can be choppy, so keep small children close or let them stay aboard while an adult snorkels. On a shared boat you can always sit out a stop.
Little Water Cay is a hit with children: rock iguanas cross the boardwalk and sun themselves on the sand. You stay on the boardwalk, and nobody may feed the iguanas, which the law forbids.
The Trust charges $20 short tour, $25 extended tour, $10 Half Moon Bay, and the reserve opens Monday to Saturday, 10am to 3:30pm. If your card says the fee is yours to pay, carry small bills.
With a baby or a toddler, a private charter is the easy answer. The fare buys the boat for up to six, eight or ten, so a child costs nothing extra, and the crew waits while you change a nappy or feed. You choose how long to stay at each stop, and you can bring your own food.
The private half day from Club Med Turkoise takes up to ten and is stroller accessible, which suits a large family with small children.
Many shared boats and several private charters describe themselves as stroller accessible, and two list wheelchair access. Most boarding still happens on the beach or up a short ladder, so carry small children aboard and fold the stroller.
The boats that collect you from the beach can mean wet feet at the water's edge. Dress children in swimwear from the start.
The Champagne sunset cruise is for adults 18 and over. The private parasail trip takes children from 8, and one Blue Haven charter prices guests from 15 as adults. The Grand Turk boat keeps non-swimmers aboard for the snorkel and asks every snorkeller to climb its ladder with little help.
For a child under 8 who cannot swim yet, the Half Moon Bay trip, the Bight Park half day or a private boat are the kinder choices. The planning page covers ages and fitness for every boat.
The ages are each tour's own booking terms; the reserve fees and rules are the National Trust's.
